I do have two great passions in my life. As you all know writing is one for I mention some facsimile of it in almost every post I do but the one most people dont know is my passion for gardening. I have had a passion for planting things for years, from the time I was a child I could start lemon seeds and orange seeds (which some people have a hell of a time with) but then with my child like attention span I would forget to water them and they would die… Oops.
Well as I grew older the passion grew and I have been gardening now for about ten years seriously, with my methods ever evolving through research and experience. Plants have always been an intense interest to me, it is the amazment of such lush green things and some with the most vivid color flowers coming from a simple seed is astonishing. I always believed that if I got a job with plants I would grow to hate my passion but now I am thinking that would be impossible for I spend hours at a time working with and around plants as happy as can be. Yes I have done some freelance landscaping for locals thats not the same really that is more of a design passion.
So last year I decided to invest in raised beds this cuts down on weeds and actually creates a better growing space for plants the soil stays warmer and seeds germinate faster. Plus you can plant things closer together without worrying about stepping on them. I wanted to share some pictures with you of my garden. I warn you I have just started cleaning things up and planting plus I am putting an extension on it so please be kind to the mess you see..lol

This is the overall garden the six beds in the front are established and am currently planting in. The back six are my new beds as you can see no finished isles and no dirt inside beds. Hopefully that will be taken care of tomorrow. Notice the bamboo those for the maters to crawl up on. I surpassed last years crop by 20 so this year I started about seventy plants..

This is my growing station.. See I can be crafty sometimes..lol All of whats in there now is herbs basil, dill, oregano, and damable thyme. Next year I am building a damn greenhouse.
Through the season I will post some new pics of the garden and the yard and all that. How about anyone else do you all enjoy getting your hands dirty and watching the soil enrich the soil of life? Hit me up if you do, also if you have any seeds to swap let me know I have plenty… See ya for now..
Nice shot of your back 40! I love your sectioned-off garden plan – it looks so neat. I don’t have a big enough backyard to have this kind of order – I’m relegated to containers, but hey, a garden is a garden , right?
Thanks for coming by!
I do container gardening to on my porch I love that as well. Thank you very much for coming by I do love your blog..
